Kevin currently serves as a Social Research Specialist within the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute. His primary duties revolve around his role as Project Leader for the Transportation Information Management System (TIMS) where he assists over 50 school districts in Western North Carolina. He is also the Primary Researcher and an Assistant Researcher on a number of community research projects for the Urban Institute. In addition, Kevin is also an Adjunct Professor through the UNC Charlotte Department of Sociology. Before returning to graduate school, he worked within the field of behavioral healthcare as a case manager for disruptive children, their families, and adults suffering from mental illness. As a graduate student, Kevin served as a Teaching Assistant in the Eberly College of Arts & Sciences, performed a Teaching Practicum in Advanced Data Analysis and then served as a Research Assistant within the Division of Planning and Finance where he conducted institutional research on WVU peer institutions.
Kevin holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Concord University, and a Masters Degree in Applied Social Research from West Virginia University.
Kevin is well versed in numerous methods of Research Design and Data Analysis for both quantitative and qualitative research projects. In addition to research design, Kevin continually grows his base of knowledge regarding a comprehensive assessment and understanding of issues related to efficient school bus routing and scheduling throughout North Carolina.
