Qingfang Wang is an assistant professor at in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. With the support from National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, a John H. Biggs Fellowship, a UNC Charlotte Urban Institute Fellowship Program, and UNC Charlotte Faculty Research Grants, her work has appeared in journals such as Annals of Association of American Geographers, Environment and Planning A, and Urban Studies.

Her research has focused on the study of racial and ethnic division of labor in U.S. cities, that is, how urban labor markets are divided by race, ethnicity, gender, and class. I examine how the segmentation changes over time in a global context, how “space” matters in this process, and how labor market segmentation impacts housing markets, racial income disparities, and other socioeconomic consequences. Her most recent work focuses on ethnic minority and women owned enterprises.
