Goodwill Youth Needs Assessment Presentation

Friday, February 10, 2012

In September 2009, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont commissioned the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute to assess the need for a workforce development program for youth in the community and recommend any changes that should be made to put its fledgling Youth Job Connection program on the right track.  Over the course of the study, the institute analyzed secondary data, reviewed best practices, and received feedback from over 350 individuals through surveys, focus groups, and interviews.  Ultimately, the study found great need in the Charlotte community for youth workforce development programs and found that Goodwill was well-positioned to play a key role in the provision of such services.
