On behalf of Gaston Together and our data indicator partners; the United Way of Gaston County, Gaston College and Gaston Family Health Services, we welcome you to the Gaston County indicators data page. This partnership was formed as a part of the Gaston Vision 2020 process and is the first county-wide effort of its kind for the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute’s Indicator Partners website.

In 2011, the community partners came together in recognition of the opportunity to provide extensive research in chosen theme areas focused around the five critical success factors of Gaston Vision 2020. These factors include:
- To be a county of opportunity,
- To be a safe, healthy community,
- To demonstrate a value for education,
- To attract and retain a growing population of skilled 20 to 30 year olds, and
- To effectively communicate the quality of living in Gaston County.
The data presented is a tremendous resource that will be used by our community to identify and measure targeted outcomes which will impact efforts to elevate community vitality in support of economic growth and development. Partners will use the data to inform decision making processes like strategic planning efforts of agencies, presentations to the community as well as for grant writing purposes. It is an exciting time for the community to have this wealth of diverse information that may be used to inform so many different areas of interest.
